Approx. 4x4", this ceremaic coaster with cork backing features PSP's hero K-9, Omar.
Omar, the Belgian Shepherd K-9, aided in the capture of a mentally deranged "mountain man" who had shot and killed his master, Sgt. Timothy McCarthy on May 12, 1931. During the ensuing capture, Omar was shot and seriously wounded by the actor. After recovering from his wounds, Omar was awarded the American Kennel Club Medal of Valor for his heroic actions at a formal ceremony at Troop E Headquarters on November 12, 1931, the only animal in State Police history to be so honored.
