Approx. 3.5" x 3.5", this ceramic coaster with cork backing features the Ghost Car.
In 1937, the Pennsylvania State Police merged with the State Highway Patrol to form the Pennsylvania Motor Police. The Hudson Terraplane Coupe was the first marked patrol car to appear on the scene. Due to their all white color, the motoring public referred to them as “Ghost Cars.” In 1938, the hoods of the cars were painted black to cut down on the glare from the sun reflecting off the white head.
This is the 2nd coaster in a series of historic images throughout the 115 year history of the PSP
