Approx. 3.5" x 3.5", this ceramic coaster with cork backing features the Bell 47 "Bubble" Helicopter and Trooper Patch
On October 15, 1968, the PSP Aviation Division was formed. Air patrol operations began on March 24, 1969 consisting of 2 Bell Model 47G4A helicopters, 6 pilots, and 4 mechanic/observers (all enlisted). On January 17, 1974, this helicopter had its first fatal crash when Tpr. Ross Snowden and a civilian Reading Airport manager were killed.
This is the 5th coaster in a series of historic images throughout the history of the PSP.
