Celebrating 115 years....
Beginning with the 1991 Chevy Caprice, the Department unveiled a new and unique color scheme for the patrol fleet. The all white vehicle had the shoulder patch decal on the front door with a side and rear vehicle stripe in black with gold accent. “STATE TROOPER” was on the front fender and “STATE POLICE” was along the trunk in gold lettering. The “CALEA” insignia was subsequently added to the front fender when the Department became accredited in 1993. This color scheme existed until 2017 when the Department adopted the current sterling metallic gray vehicles replicating the color of the PSP uniform.
